Then we have a solution for you!
Rob Howarth of "Futureproof Life" has been training and supporting athletes for 20 years and will be offering his transport & delivery service once again this year.
● We will transport your kayak (and or bike) from Auckland to the race and back.
You can choose the deluxe package whereby we’ll transport your kayak throughout the race, meaning you do not need to have a vehicle with roof racks. Or -
The budget package which means you will need to collect your kayak in Kumara and deal with it during the race.

●Kayak Trailer will leaving Auckland on Monday 3rd February 2025.
●Back in Auckland on or about 12th Feb.
●Lightweight Kayak accessories may also be transported with your kayak - e.g. Paddle, buoyancy aid, spraydeck, helmet, drybag incl. spare emergency gear.
●ONE DAY COMPETITORS - Please note there is a different fee structure for One Day Kayaks choosing the Deluxe Option. This is due to the fact that the logistics behind dealing with one day kayaks can extend through to 9pm on Saturday.
●Bikes - there are limited spaces available for bike transport. Cost -
$199 or
$150 - please provide your own roof mounted bike rack (must fit into modern aero roof bars)
Although we can transport your bike during the race, you will find it easier to keep it in your possession (inside your motorhome for example) and return it to us on Sunday morning.
INSURANCE - YOU MUST ENSURE YOUR OWN “CONTENTS” POLICY COVERS YOUR KAYAK OR BIKE FOR ANY DAMAGE OCCURRING DURING TRANSPORT.
TWO DAY COMPETITORS
Budget Kayak Option - Cost $ 275
You must collect your kayak on Thursday 6th Feb from Kumara Racecourse.
At the end of the kayak stage (Sat 8th) you must return your kayak (and any gear) to our trailer which will be parked on the riverbank.
You must wash your kayak and gear (disinfectant provided) to meet the requirements for Didymo control.
Deluxe Kayak Option - Cost $525
This option includes our most excellent advice & assistance to your support crews throughout the race, including help getting your kayak down through kayak scrutineering and positioning on the riverbank on Saturday morning.
You will have access to your kayak at Kumara racecourse on Thursday 6th Feb. This will allow you to collect your gear and place race stickers onto your kayak etc. Your kayak will then be re-packed onto the trailer ready for Saturday morning. There is limited access on Friday afternoon at Klondyke Corner campsite (7th Feb) but we do encourage you to come and say hi and make sure your support crews are familiar with the arrangements for Saturday kayak check in.
Saturday 8th Feb - Race day 2. We will be ready and waiting for you at Mt. White Bridge. Your support crew will collect your kayak from the trailer and proceed to scrutineering and then to set up on the banks of the Waimak. We are happy to help if required.
At the end of the kayak stage we will clean (disinfect) your kayak & gear, this is for the purposes of Didymo control. Then we’ll load your kayak back onto the trailer and we’ll see you back in Auckland.
ONE DAY COMPETITORS
Budget Kayak Option - Cost $275
Kayak plus lightweight gear (paddle, buoyancy aid, spraydeck, helmet, drybag).
You must collect your kayak on Thursday 6th Feb from Kumara Racecourse.
Kayak must be delivered back to us on Sunday 9th Feb - details TBC but we’ll be at Prizegiving or you can find us earlier at our campsite.
You must wash your kayak and gear to meet the requirements for Didymo control.
Deluxe Kayak Option - Cost $699
NOTE - This option includes retrieval of your kayak from the 7pm cut off at Woodstock. (if applicable -but hopefully not!!) No apologies for the price of this one, It’s a long day if we have to visit Woodstock.
You will have access to your kayak at Kumara racecourse on Thursday 6th Feb. This will allow you to collect your gear and place race stickers onto your kayak etc. Your kayak will then be re-packed onto the trailer ready for Saturday morning. There is limited access on Friday afternoon at Klondyke Corner campsite (7th Feb) but we do encourage you to come and say hi and make sure your support crews are familiar with the arrangements for Saturday kayak check in.
Saturday 8th Feb - Race day 2. Your kayak will be positioned near the scrutineering check in at Mt. White Bridge. Your support crew will park at the top of the gravel road and walk down the hill with the rest of your gear to locate your kayak. We will NOT be there as we are required to depart the river and head to Gorge Bridge.
At the end of the kayak stage we will clean (disinfect) your kayak & gear, this is for the purposes of Didymo control. Then we’ll load your kayak back onto the trailer and we’ll see you back in Auckland.
